Silk Spectre at the Sexe et Cinéma Cabaret (RVCQ 2010)
A short English report on the Sex and Cinema Cabaret, presented by the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois (RVCQ) in Montreal in February 2010.
Hundreds of people came for an evening of burlesque numbers, film clips and a sphinx dance, with live cartoonists sketching classic pin-ups and superheroes. I came dressed as Silk Spectre, in a reproduction of her costume from the film Watchmen, and I danced and mingled all night in a sea of latex. Polymorphe's Montreal latex designs were everywhere, and the finale was a stage show with two catwomen in a milk bath.
It was a fun, glamorous night, and it's a pleasure to rediscover this report.
