Some time recently when I was spending a lovely 10 days at Desire Resort in Mexico, I had brought up with me this classy Patrice Catanzaro beige with black skulls mini dress. Before disappearing in the wild Mexican night, in my hotel’s bedroom I took a selfie that got so many great feedbacks on my Facebook Fanpage that I promised myself to model/shoot this piece of clothing when the occasion would rise.
And that occasion came to me when I signed up to take part of the 8th annual GoldRush Rally in the U.S.A in which I was driving a Super Car while representing Marquis Magazine. My journey ended in Las Vegas city where Micheal C Martell, the owner of Marquis, kindly offered the team to stay a couple of days at one of the Palm’s Casinos biggest suites.
The rally being now over, the team and I had gone out the previous night to this shoot and boy the next morning when I woke up in bed, the alcohol was still running high in my blood! My head was spinning and hurting bad! But because this was my very last chance to do a photo shoot in this amazing suite, I kicked myself out of bed and worked my magic!!
I put my hair up, did my smokey eyes make-up and yeah, swallowed two Ibuprofene caplets. By the time the lighting tests were done, I was already feeling much better. And once fully dressed up, just like magic, I was ready to roll! I’m sure glad I did find the energy to get my lazy hungover bones out of bed as these photos turned out to be luxuriously sexed-up baby!!

Glad to be back to this site but however.. there is this thing that I can’t help but notice. It seems that all the more recent photoshoots are just a tad bit too dark. Ie. if brightness or gamma were upped just a tad bit, it would look normal but as it is they look now un-naturally dark (not significantly but just enough that it’s noticed). I went to see if this has always been the case and it indeed hasn’t. Circa 2009 galleries atleast are in full beauty brightness wise. So I’m wondering what’s the deal here with this brightness/gamma thing in the more recent year pictures?
I will let Martin answer you directly as he is the one in charge of calibrating the photos. I am the model 😉 hihihihi

It is true that the general feeling of the recent shoots is a bit darker in style. I think it’s just a general “movie feel” I have for the general look of the shoots in general in the past couple of years. In our beginnings, I used to shoot full light, very bright, low contrast. Nowadays I try to add more ambiance, sculpt more with the ambiant light mixed with the artificial light added to the shoot. My monitor is calibrated with a professional spider as to make sure that I have a good starting point when working on the grading of the shoots. If the grading is done when the sun is down, the ambiant light in the room is darker, so the image appears brighter on the screen, which can affects litghly the grading (the result tends to be slightly darker than if the grading is done during the day). Anyhow, all technical stuff really… in a world of art where feeling and personal taste are king and queen. I’ll keep your comment in mind for the future grading of our shoots. Thanks for your input!

I got soooooo many outfits to shoot you wouldn’t believe the aamount. I doubt I will ever shoot this dress again but who knows. That being said, I have more sexy dresses from Patrice Catanzaro to shoot, even catsuits 😉
