Devil Girl: Airbrush Painting by Michael Calandra (2011)

Artist Michael Calandra turned our photos into an airbrush painting, and he filmed the whole process from the first pencil lines to the finished piece: me as a devil girl, with horns, a spear and flames, in a shiny black latex catsuit.

It's a 53-minute studio visit, and a very informal one. Michael draws the design on hot press illustration board, builds up transparent layers of colour with an Iwata Custom Micron airbrush and Com-Art paints, and cuts masks to paint around the spear, the horns and the flames. You can also see how he handles the reflections in the latex, which acts like a mirror.

At the end he thanks Martin and me for letting him work with our images.
